Savvy Social Security Planning Workshop
08.27.2013 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Will Social Security be there for me? How much can I expect to receive? When should I apply for Social Security? How can I maximize my benefits? Will Social Security be enough to live on in retirement?

Are you asking yourself these questions? If so, you’re not alone. That’s why the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is hosting an educational workshop called “Savvy Social Security Planning: What Baby Boomers Need to Know to Maximize Retirement Income.”

The informative workshop covers the basics of Social Security and reveals strategies for maximizing your benefits. Attend the workshop at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at KHCPL Main, 220 N. Union St., and you’ll learn the following:

• Five factors to consider when deciding when to apply for benefits.
• When it makes sense to delay benefits – and when it does not.
• Why you should always check your earnings record for accuracy.
• How to estimate your benefits.
• How to coordinate benefits with your spouse.
• How to minimize taxes on Social Security benefits.
• How to coordinate Social Security with your other sources of retirement income.

The workshop is sponsored by DuPont & Associates and the American Retirement Benefits Council.

Admission is free, but seating is limited. You need to RSVP by calling 457.3242.
